Discipline is constancy of aim and constancy of effort!
Over the years, I have made the mindful decision to choose discipline over motivation.
→ Central to my approach is the “have-be-do” strategy: I constantly reflect on what I wish to “have” in the future, who I must “be” to attain these aspirations, and the actions I need to “do” to realize them.
→ This framework allows me to delineate my short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals, each serving as a stepping stone on my journey of self-development—a pursuit that has become profoundly addictive.
→ With these objectives firmly in mind, I relentlessly push myself to optimize my time, ensuring a harmonious balance among my career, family, social engagements, health, and spiritual growth.
→ The exhilarating prospect of achieving these goals serves as a powerful motivator, and creates thought forms that drive me to remain disciplined and steadfast in my daily routine.
→ Evaluating myself is an aspect I focus on too. Weekly self-audits of my weaknesses or areas for improvement, along with assessments of short, medium, and long-term goal progress, helps me plan any necessary course corrections to ensure continued growth and success.
Routines can be mundane but the only key to success is ‘discipline.’ Motivation will only take you so far.
